Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings, payments, and participation in Beyond Steppe retreats. By applying or paying for a retreat, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Booking & Payment

• All retreat applications must be submitted through our online application form and approved by our team before a booking is confirmed.
• A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the retreat start date.
• If your booking is made within 30 days of the retreat, full payment is required at the time of acceptance.
• We accept bank transfer and major credit cards. All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated.

2. Cancellation & Refund Policy

• More than 60 days before retreat: Full refund minus the 50% deposit.
• 30 to 60 days before retreat: 50% refund of the total retreat price.
• Less than 30 days before retreat: No refund. However, you may transfer your booking to a future retreat date (subject to availability) up to 14 days before the original start date.
• No-show: No refund or transfer available.

3. Retreat Changes by Beyond Steppe

• We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a retreat due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to extreme weather, political instability, or insufficient bookings.
• In the event of a retreat cancellation by Beyond Steppe, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to a future retreat at no extra cost.
• We are not liable for any additional travel costs (flights, visas, accommodation) incurred if a retreat is cancelled or rescheduled.

4. Participant Responsibilities

• You are responsible for obtaining your own travel insurance that covers health, accident, trip cancellation, and evacuation for remote areas.
• You are responsible for obtaining any necessary visas and ensuring your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
• You must disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations in your application. Failure to do so may result in denial of participation without refund.
• You agree to follow the guidance of retreat leaders and local guides at all times for your safety and the safety of others.

5. Liability & Waiver

• Horse healing and retreat activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to interaction with live animals, outdoor terrain, and remote locations.
• By participating, you acknowledge these risks and agree that Beyond Steppe, its owners, staff, and partners are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
• All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver before the retreat begins.

6. Photography & Media

• We may photograph and film retreat activities for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in our media, please notify us in writing before the retreat.
• By default, we assume consent to use images that include you in a non-identifiable or group context, unless you explicitly opt out.

7. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Almaty, Kazakhstan.
