How do I get to the retreat from Almaty?
We arrange transfer from Almaty airport as part of every retreat. The drive into the Tien Shan foothills takes a few hours. Bring a book, the scenery does the rest.
What should I pack?
Layers. Mountain weather shifts fast, even in summer. We'll send a full packing list once your application is confirmed. Sturdy shoes and something warm for the fire are the essentials.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Meals are cooked fresh by our team. Tell us about any restrictions when you apply and we'll work it out directly.
What fitness level do I need?
No athletic ability is required. There's walking on uneven ground and time on horseback at a walking pace. If you can manage a moderate hike, you can manage this.
What's your deposit and cancellation policy?
Once your retreat is confirmed, a deposit of 50% of the total price is due within 48 hours to hold your place. The remaining balance is due before arrival. Full terms are sent with your confirmation, we keep it fair on both sides.
Do you speak English?
Yes. Dinara and the team communicate in English throughout, though you'll pick up some Kazakh and Russian along the way, that's part of the experience too.
