Questions About This Tour

Before You Apply

Is this the "Dracula tour"?
Bran Castle is on the route, but the trip is built around the region's real history and Carpathian landscapes, not the legend alone.
How much driving is involved?
Some days run 4-5 hours by van on mountain roads, broken up with stops in villages and viewpoints along the way.
What's the best season?
Late spring through early autumn. The Transfăgărășan road itself is typically closed in winter due to snow.
Do I need a visa?
No, for most nationalities. Romania has been a full member of the Schengen Area since 2025, so US, UK, and EU passport holders can stay visa-free for up to 90 days.
