Questions About This Tour

Before You Apply

How much hiking is involved?
One full hiking day, with routes for different fitness levels. Cable cars cover the steepest ground if you'd rather not walk it.
Can I combine this with Austria or Hungary?
Yes, it connects naturally to either. Mention it when you apply and we'll help plan the route.
What's the best season for the Tatras?
June through September for hiking; the range is also a genuine winter destination if you'd rather see it under snow.
Do I need a visa?
No, for most nationalities. Slovakia is in the Schengen Area, so US, UK, and EU passport holders can enter visa-free for up to 90 days, the same visa that covers Austria and Hungary.
